I would like to cover in my thesis some of the points: - go through the need for setting up a family council, the importance of regular family meetings, the role of a non-family adviser in succession planning and other prerequisites to setting up the scene for a smooth transition; - the importance of relations between family and non-family managers and the need to differentiate between what’s best for the family and what’s best for the business; - Use TATA as benchmark for transitioning between the generations in family business; - And additionally we might also include the topic of nurturing the following generations in the right way to equip them with the set of skills needed to be a part and run the family business. This includes education as well as the need for work experience outside of the family business. To examine the role of knowledge as a factor that leads to a competitive advantage in family businesses and how it enables family businesses to adapt and evolve in order to survive and stay in the lead.; I also need references for the thesis - at least 15-20 references
