Many people say that organizational behavior (OB) is the "soft" part of business, implying that it's an easy subject and not as hard as the technical and statistical analysis of finance and business forecasting. However, others say that "people" are much more complicated than numbers. What is your take on this? What does this imply for the study of OB and the role of interpersonal skills in management? 2. The textbook says that it is important for managers to combine "intuition" with the systematic study of organizational behavior and management, including evidence-based management. Why is this important? How does this differ from the idea that management is "common sense"? 3. In chapter 2, the textbook recognizes that diversity in organizations can both hurt and help performance in groups and organizations. This may mean that diversity in the workplace has to be managed.
