After reviewing section 4 of the BACB Ethics Code for Behavior Analysts, use all parts of the model for ethical decision making to address the following scenario from Bailey & Burch (2016): I am a grad student and I work 10 hours per week in a school with a new supervisor. I talked to her on the phone before the first day of my assignment; she asked me a few questions, and we set up a plan to meet in one of the classrooms. I arrived early for the 1:00 p.m. meeting and waited for her to show up, but she never did. As I headed to the main office to sign out, my supervisor called my cell phone and asked “So, how did it go?” I told her I waited for her to arrive, but did not do anything since she did not show up because I was unsure of what to do. She stated, “Oh, I should have mentioned that I was running late; I guess I forgot to call you. Let’s try again on Thursday. Just go into the classroom and introduce yourself to the teacher, and have her point out who Allie is – she’s the problem child. I gotta go now!” I heard from her two weeks later and asked if she was going to observe me. She said, “No, not right now… I’ve got a lot going on. Just put your supervision papers in my mailbox at the school and I will sign them for you!” In your response, please be sure to identify the relevant codes that informed your decision-making process as you review the case and suggest a viable solution.
